Lisa Mazenauer is an artist and filmmaker working across film, photography, sound and installation. With a background in sociology and art history, she approaches image-making as a way of engaging with stories embedded in places shaped by personal and industrial legacies. Influenced by her family’s mining heritage, her work explores the space between memory, extractivism, and archaeology. Through a research-based practice, she investigates the construction of history and the profound interaction between human ambition and the landscapes we shape, physically and psychically. Her work has recently been shown at Kunsthaus Baselland, Alt+1000, Biennale de la Photographie de Mulhouse, Espace 3353, Atelier Mondial, Galerie C, Videoex, Photoforum Pasquart, and Musée des Beaux-Arts Le Locle.
